Josh Marcy

Josh Marcy is an independent dance artist and dance educator based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Through out his carrier, Josh has works and creates performances in collaborating with various Indonesian and International artist.

Josh early trained in HipHop before expanding to contemporary dance practice. In 2017 he decided to continue his learning process in Jakarta Institute of The Arts – majoring in Urban Arts, then recently in 2020 he earn his Master Degree.

Through out his career, Josh worked with groups of emerging young artist, which together tried to overcome issues surrounding local arts community; such as sustainable support system, and circulating the knowledge exchange within arts community.  Since 2019, Josh also closely involved in Dance Committee of Jakarta Arts Council as Board Member of Jakarta Dance Meet Up – a platform which initiated to create and maintain the development of local dance scene.
